The address your request arrived from, as our server saw it, matched against our own copies of the routing table, the registry files and DB-IP's location estimates. It is not stored. How we handle data
IP geolocation is approximate: it shows where your provider's network is, never your home address. Only your provider can link an address to a subscriber.

Everything we can tell about your address, from registry data to routing.
For any public address we bring together on one page what the registry, the routing table and DNS say — and label what is an estimate.
Estimated country, region and city, with an accuracy radius and time zone. Never a street address.
The autonomous system that announces the address and the organisation it is registered to.
The block announced in the global BGP table, and whether the announcement is authorised by a valid ROA.
The PTR name published for the address, confirmed in the forward direction (FCrDNS).
Data from RIPE NCC or another regional registry: holder, country, date and abuse contact.
Tor exit, hosting networks and the likely type of network — each with its source.
Most connections today have an IPv4 address, and many also have an IPv6 address. They are separate addresses, and a website can see either one.
32 bits, written as four numbers such as 192.0.2.10. There are only about 4.3 billion, so homes usually share one public address between all devices through the router (NAT).

A database estimates where a block of addresses is used, from registry records, routing and network measurements. It is an estimate about the network, not about the person.
No IP lookup reveals a person's name, street address or exact position.
Almost always right.
Often right on fixed lines.
In Türkiye, the city is often where the provider's core network or data centre is — İstanbul or Ankara — rather than where you are.

Short, accurate answers to the questions people ask most about IP addresses, each with a guide or tool to go further.
A number that identifies a connection on a network so data can find its way back. On the internet your router or your provider's equipment has a public address; your devices have private ones behind it.

Many Turkish mobile and fibre connections have both, but availability still varies by provider and by type of line — fibre, VDSL, cable or mobile.
Read more : What is the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?No. It points to a network and, at best, an approximate area such as a city or region. Only your provider can link an address to a subscriber, and only shares that under legal process.
Read more : Can an IP address reveal my exact location? An autonomous system number identifies one network on the internet, such as Türk Telekom (AS9121), Superonline (AS34984), Turkcell (AS16135), Vodafone (AS15897), TurkNet (AS12735) or ULAKBİM (AS8517). Networks exchange routes with each other under these numbers using BGP.
Read more : What is an ASN?A public address is reachable on the internet and is what websites see. Private addresses (192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x, 172.16–31.x.x) are only used inside a local network and never leave it.
Read more : What is the difference between a public and a private IP?Most home and mobile subscriptions get an address from a pool. It can change when the router restarts, the lease runs out or the provider renumbers its network. A fixed address is usually an extra service.
Read more : Why can my IP address change?Your provider sees which addresses you connect to, when and how much data flows. HTTPS hides the content and the exact pages; unencrypted DNS can reveal the names you look up.
Read more : What does my internet provider see?Look at the IPv6 row in the card above, or run the IPv6 test: it makes one request over IPv4 only and one over IPv6 only, so you see exactly which of them works.

We compile the data ourselves from public sources: routing and registries daily, location every few days. Missing data is shown as missing.
We don't log visitor IP addresses or set tracking cookies. Every lookup runs against our own data, on our own server.
IP geolocation is an estimate. We show the source of each field and never imply precision we don't have.
Routing, registry and location data are downloaded from public sources and compiled into indexes on our own server. DNS and registration records are queried live from the responsible servers when you ask. Each field on a result page shows its source.

Türk Telekom, Turkcell Superonline, Turkcell, Vodafone, Türksat, TurkNet and others: how much address space each network announces, and where IPv6 and RPKI stand.
Prefix, ASN, registration, RPKI, reverse DNS and location: what each line of an IP lookup means, and which of them are facts and which are estimates.
It is the address your connection uses on the internet. Every website you visit sees it. At home it usually belongs to your router, which shares it between all your devices.
IP location is an estimate of where an address block is used, often where the provider's equipment is. It is usually right about the country and often wrong about the city. It cannot locate a person or a street address.
Your internet provider, your router or the network you are on doesn't offer IPv6, or it is switched off. Websites then reach you over IPv4 only, which still works normally.
Many home and mobile connections get a new address now and then, for example when the router restarts. Some subscriptions include a fixed address.
Not from the address alone. It shows the network and an approximate area. Only your internet provider can link an address to a subscriber, and only shares that under legal process.
No. Your device's address on the home network (often 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x) is private and is not visible on the internet. This page shows the public address.
Marker shows the estimated centre of the area; the circle indicates uncertainty. Never use IP location to find a person or a street address.
